At LFMG Music Academy, our mission is to inspire youth through music by providing them with the tools, resources, and relationships they need to thrive — in the studio, at school, and in life.
We believe music is more than art — it’s a pathway to confidence, community, and leadership. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world opportunities, we help young people find their voice and use it to create positive change.

Our Story
LFMG Music Academy began with a dream — and a few young artists who needed a place to belong.
Founder Edgar “EQ” Quiroz grew up in Western Colorado, chasing music long before there were studios, stages, or youth programs around him. What started as organizing small concerts and mentoring younger artists became something bigger: a mission to give the next generation what he wished he had — access, guidance, and mentors.
In the beginning, classes were held at La Familia Music Group studios. Word spread, and soon youth from Montrose and surrounding counties were showing up — not just to make music, but to express themselves, to heal, and to grow.
LFMG Music Academy has since evolved into a full creative hub — with professional recording studios, a multimedia lab, and programs that blend music, mentorship, and mental wellness.
Students learn to produce beats, record songs, DJ events, and perform live, but what they gain runs deeper — confidence, discipline, and purpose.
We’ve watched shy kids step up to the mic for the first time. We’ve seen teens who once felt unseen become leaders in their schools and communities.
That’s what LFMG is about — turning creativity into courage and potential into power.
Our Impact 2024
Since opening our doors in 2024, LFMG Music Academy has served more than 350 youth across seven counties.
We’ve engaged over 300 hours with youth ages 6 to 24.
In 2024, we raised $145k and it wouldn't be possible without your help and support!
